Zachary Mason – Man of the Universe

Zachary Mason heads into outer space with “Man Of The Universe”, a fun Space Rock single with psychedelic touches and a clear love for old-school science fiction. The track brings together a playful story, a big imagination, and an important collaboration with legendary UK producer Stuart Epps. The song tells the story of a larger-than-life space traveler who knows the universe like the back of his hand. He flies around in a powerful spaceship, takes on aliens and space pirates, and has plenty of female admirers along the way. The story has the spirit of classic Sci-Fi magazines and Pulp Science Fiction, giving the track a lighthearted character from the start.

There is also a great story behind the recording itself. In June 2026, Zachary sent three demos to Stuart Epps, unsure of what kind of response he would receive. Epps praised all three songs, and “Man Of The Universe” was eventually chosen for the collaboration. He brought drums, bass, organ, and backing vocals to the track, and handled the studio production. Considering Epps’ long history of working with artists including Led Zeppelin, Oasis, Elton John, George Harrison and Robbie Williams, this was a pretty special opportunity for Mason. Zachary even described Epps as a “man of the music world”, which seems like a fitting way to describe the experience.

The Space Rock direction also connects the single to Zachary’s earlier Sci-Fi EP, 5…4…3…2…1…, while giving the new song its own playful personality. It is easy to picture the spaceship, the aliens, and the chaos of the story as the track moves along. I really enjoyed the sense of fun in “Man Of The Universe”. Zachary does not take the story too seriously, and that is part of its charm. The collaboration with Stuart Epps also makes this an especially interesting moment in his musical journey.

Zachary has been busy building his catalog since 2021, creating between 200 and 250 demos using recording equipment purchased from Andertons Music. His music has already received attention from publications including Rolling Stone En Español, TJPL News, Rock Era Magazine, Return Of Rock and The Big Takeover. He was also interviewed by SPIN Magazine in 2025, while his single “I Wish Humans Were Made In A Factory…” reached the semi-finals of the ISC 2025. His music has now passed one million streams.

If you enjoy songs with a little imagination and a good dose of old-school Sci-Fi fun, give “Man Of The Universe” a listen and add it to your playlist. Make sure to follow Zachary Mason on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok as well, because he has already built a sizeable catalog and continues to explore different sounds and ideas. This latest single shows another side of his work and marks a memorable collaboration with Stuart Epps, so it is well worth keeping Zachary on your radar and seeing where his music heads next.
