Stealth – Medley ’98-’11

Not many bands have the guts to package their entire history into a single track and put it out for the world to hear. Stealth did exactly that with “Medley ’98-’11”, a release that originally dropped in December 2012 as a free download on the band’s website and SoundCloud, and has now landed on all major streaming platforms for the first time through Stealth Attack Recordings. Rooted in the Le Marche region of Italy, Stealth have been at it since 1997, building a catalog that stretches across albums, EPs, tours across Italy and Europe, and a stubbornness to keep going on their own terms. “Medley ’98-’11” pulls from 25 tracks recorded across that stretch of time, moving through originals like “Fear”, “Maniacs”, “March on Gulf”, “Notre Dame”, “Stealth Attack”, “Boiler”, and “Emancipated”, with cover moments dedicated to The Cult and Bomfunk MC’s woven in along the way. The sheer scope of it is worth pausing on.

For anyone coming to Stealth fresh, this track works as a proper introduction, not a teaser or a highlight reel, but a real look at how the band’s sound shifted and grew over more than a decade. The transitions hold up well, and nothing feels forced. Credit for that goes largely to mastering engineer Ays Kura, who managed to pull material from across different recording sessions and give the whole thing a consistent feel without ironing out its personality. Honestly, this is the kind of release that earns respect. It takes confidence to look back at your own catalog this openly, and Stealth pulls it off without it feeling like a nostalgia exercise.

If you’re new to Stealth, follow them everywhere you can, stealthattack.it, Spotify, SoundCloud, all of it, and get “Medley ’98-’11” into your playlist today. Give it more than one spin, because the more you listen, the more you pick up. For anyone already familiar with the band, this is a solid reminder of how much ground they’ve covered and why they’re still worth paying attention to. Don’t sleep on it.
