Aderyn – Cross Your Mind

Welsh alt-pop songwriter Aderyn, the stage persona of Bristol-based Lisa Martin, has never been shy about a feeling, and “Cross Your Mind” makes that crystal clear from the opening second. Out on May 20th, the track kicks off her forthcoming sophomore EP Hot Pink!, due in June 2026, and it’s a bold, glittery declaration of living in someone’s head without paying a penny of rent. Built around nagging riffs, glistening keyboards, and a chorus that lodges itself in your brain after one listen, the song is all about strutting through the mind of an ex in thigh-high glittery boots, completely unbothered and loving every second of it. It’s theatrical, self-aware, and near-impossible to shake, the kind of pop song that sneaks up on you before you’ve even clocked what’s happening.

Aderyn put her motivation plainly: “Sometimes you just know in your gut that someone still thinks about you, whether they like it or not.” That certainty is baked right into the track’s bones. Her favorite lyric, she says, is the one about strutting in those glitter boots, a wink at her own diamante stage presence, and it lands exactly the way she intended. You can picture the image vividly, and it makes you grin. The song pulls from a satisfying range of references, from the theatrical bounce of Hairspray to the pop-punk snap of Paramore to the sharp, knowing pop of Carly Rae Jepsen, and it rides all three without tipping over. BBC Introducing’s Adam Walton called it “every era of perfect pop music all in one song,” a bold claim the track genuinely earns.

Honestly, this is the single that feels like it arrived fully formed. The confidence in the delivery is real, not performed, and the joy behind it is obvious. It’s a song you’ll replay the moment it finishes, not because you missed something, but because it felt that good. If “Cross Your Mind” is the opening move, Hot Pink! is shaping up to be something worth clearing your schedule for.

Make sure Aderyn is on your radar before the rest of the world catches up. Follow her on Instagram at @aderyn.music, find her on Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube, and Facebook, and get “Cross Your Mind” into your playlists today. It belongs on your feel-good rotation, your driving-with-the-windows-down rotation, and your petty-but-thriving rotation all at once. Pre-save Hot Pink! Now, so you’re ready when it lands in June 2026, and if you’re near London on May 20th or Carmarthen on May 22nd, get yourself to one of her shows. Aderyn performing live in her diamante boots is the kind of thing people talk about after the fact, and you don’t want to be hearing about it secondhand.
