Kylo – Nimble

Kylo steps into a more intimate sound with “Nimble”, a heartfelt single that gives listeners a different side of the Toronto artist. Released on August 14, 2026, the song is the first look at her upcoming full-length album, The Space in Between, due in winter 2027. “Nimble” deals with the feelings that can linger after a relationship suddenly comes to an end. Missing someone, feeling hurt, and being frustrated by how things ended can all coexist, and Kylo captures that mix without making it feel overly complicated. The result is a song that feels personal and easy to connect with.

The musical direction is also a welcome change. Kylo has previously been known for synth-driven electro-pop, but “Nimble” moves toward indie folk and singer-songwriter territory, with touches of country adding another layer to the sound. Acoustic instrumentation gives the song a warmer character and creates plenty of space for Kylo’s voice and words to take the lead. Her vocal performance is one of the highlights. There is a natural vulnerability in the way she sings, giving the song an emotional pull without making it feel overdone. The acoustic guitar and supporting elements keep everything grounded, allowing the mood to build naturally around her performance.

I really like how comfortable Kylo sounds in this more stripped-back setting. “Nimble” feels honest and close, and I found myself appreciating the song more with each listen. As the first preview of The Space in Between, “Nimble” is a strong introduction to this new chapter for Kylo. If you enjoy indie folk, singer-songwriter music, or songs that explore the messier side of relationships, give this one a listen. Make sure to follow Kylo to keep up with her upcoming releases, and add “Nimble” to your playlist while you are there. There is clearly more to come from this new chapter, and this single gives listeners plenty of reason to stay tuned for the album.
